Error: Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Se

Hello Experts!

I am trying to generate a cube. I have set up the analysis server settings.
the SQL-database is running, the management console of the SQL-server shows
the named pipes as enabled. on generating the cube i am getting the following
error:

[03.03.2008 16:20] Fehler beim Erstellen der OLAP-Cubes. Fehler: Fehler der
Analysis Services-Sitzung: Die Verbindung mit dem Analysis Services-Server
"<ip-adress>" konnte nicht hergestellt werden. Fehler: Cannot connect to the
repository.

Analysis server: <IP-Adress>
Error:
Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2].

we are running Project Server 2007 and have applied the project server
service pack.
Do you have any hints on solving that problem?

Did you follow the instructions "exactly" as detailed in this article?

I would make sure all the SQL component pre-reqs are in place and that the
SSPAdmin account has admin permissions to the cube.

Hi

Could it be a problem that the Project Server and the database are in two
different domains? According to our admins everything mentioned in the
documents below is installed and configured propperly. Still we get the error:

Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [2]
