Error notification by adp

Has anybody done something like create a message from adp onto the
Windows eventlog/SQL Server Logs or send email to the admin if some
operation goes wrong in the adp application?

there are definely Windows API Calls in order to do this.

i'd try www.mvps.org/access and then click API on the left menu

i believe that there are some sprocs where you can write to the event log on
the SQL Server also

but i usually just make my own table to store this info; so i dont have to
deal with the event log

parsign stuff out of the event log can get ugly; and for example-- you can't
add another field

if you use your own table to do this; then you have the freedom to add your
own fields if and when you need to.
