Error Notification in installing an application

During the Installation Process - the following error is received:
Error 1606. Could not access network location %APPDATA%\.

Currently using VISTA Home Premium. Was attempting to install the trial
version of Visio Professional 2007. Attempted to install several times. Can
anyone help with a solution? I think it's now affecting any installation I
try to perform.

Are you actually installing from a network drive?
Or did you save the download, then run it?
