Hi. I have winxp, and word 2002, but it's a few months that this application
don't run because when i open some files, (made by me!!!) the program:
1)blocked; 2)error; 3)closed!!
The error's information was::: AppName:winword.exe AppVer:10.0.2627.0
ModName:msgrit32.dll ModVer:3.0.0.25 Offset:0005a347

Thanks for the time to read my question.

The faulting module is the Italian grammar checker. There are quite a few
MSKB articles related to the Italian proofing tools, which evidently caused
quite a variety of errors, but the only one I found that describes an error
with just opening a document is this one: "Description of the Italian
Proofing Tools for Office XP post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package: July 15,
2005" at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=904411. If an Office XP service
pack has been issued since this hotfix was made available, it may be
included, so be sure you have Office XP fully updated before applying for
the hotfix. You might also want to search the KB for "msgrit32.dll" to see
the other articles since the referenced article refers to version 3.0.0.47
of the module (I don't find any listing 3.0.0.25).

I have a similar error. I open a file that I have created, work on it, save
and close it. Next time I open it I get an error message, the document is
closed and recovered and this happens quickly and repeatedly so that I cannot
get back into the document. The error message I get is
AppName: winword.exe
AppVer: 10.0.2605.0
Modname: winword.exe
Modver: 10.0.2605.0
Offset: 0001c761
I have managed to work around it as the document is sometimes there as a
recovered document when I open Word without opening a specific file but the
problem is so frequent it is pretty disruptive and frustrating. I hope that
someone can help.

Thanks

What may get you out of this loop, is to Open Word, go to File, Open, select
the file and then use the Open and Repair option (the little arrow attached
to the OPEN button).

Thank you Terry
I did not know you can do that. At the moment I have not used this
suggestion but will try it if the gremlins attack again overnight! I
discovered that you could display the repairs following the recovery of the
document. It seems that there is a style error in the document so I searched
for this on the Discussion Group and someone suggested creating a new
document using Insert > File. I did this and the file is working
currently.i.e. I have opened and closed it several times without the
nonresponsive programme message appearing. I also had Bookmark and Internal
Intergrity Type 3 and 4 repairs but these have gone away since I removed my
client's logo from the document. If it happens again I will try your
suggestion. Many thanks for replying so quickly.
