Using Office 2000 Pro SR1

Began receiving the following error

OLEAUT.DLL out of date This program requires a newer
version.

Then receive Visual Basic Environment could not be
initialized.

Been using the same app for some time. Does any one know
what happened and mor important how do I fix It.

Hi Ed,
This DLL seems to be involved in so many applications, take a
look at the following link and hope you find something appropriate.

If you go to http://www.iceview.com/ and click on 'Cleaner' you
can download a copy of OLEAUT32.DLL, whether or not you wish to
download the 'Start Up Cleaner' application is up to you. There are no
doubt other ways to obtain this file. This is certainly the version I
have installed on Windows 98SE in the C:/Windows/System folder.

Ed, I tell you a fib, the version I have is 2.40.4518 and can be
obtained from
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?oleaut32
the other one is version 2.20.4121. If you do download from this link,
please note they ask you disable any download application such as
'Download Accelerator' etc. Just a tip should you get any further
problems, you may well find the solution by going to Google and
entering the file name in search and see what comes up. Likewise if
you punch in DLL Download and it will list sites to obtain missing DLL
files.
