Error on export to text file in excel

I am trying to export a query to a text file. The problem is I get an error
everytime. The error reads as follows: "the Microsoft Jet database cannot
open the file 'cltprg.txt'. It is already opened exclusively by another
user, or you need permission to view its data. This was a database I
received from a client whom used Access 2000. I am in 2003. The query I
create will not work. But other queries work fine to export. Help please!

I don't think your problem is with Access, but with the text file you're
trying to export to. The message indicates that some other program has it
locked so you can't overwrite it (which is what the export from Access will
do). I know that Excel locks files in this way. Alternatively, it could be
that the file is marked as Read Only - you can check this through the file
properties through Windows Explorer...
