I installed Office 2007 yesterday on a Windows XP operating system. If I
double click on a csv file from windows explorer I get a pop up window with
an error stating that "remote data not accessible". The popup give me the
opportunity to open another program. I select "no" and excel opens with a
"dynamic data exchange" pop up asking me to select a data source. I cancel
out of that popup and eventually my csv file opens as well as some oddball
file I didn't select. In my case it is a zip file. It always seems to be the
same zip file, it isn't even in the same directory.
Now if Excel is already open and I select a csv file from windows explorer
it opens normally.
This error didn't exist prior to the Office 2007 installation.
