error openeing Word2007 file in Office XP

Hi,
While trying to open Office 2007 file on Office XP i get the following error
'This is pre-release version of compatibility pack and can open pre -release
office 2007 files only. Do you want to check newer version'. When I click
'OK' it takes to Download file formatter which i have downloaded and applied
the latest file formatter. I have also verified that windows updated to
date. Still the problem persist, Kindly provide some solution

Maybe uninstall any compatibility pack listed in add/remove, reboot the PC
then reinstall the compatibility pack from MS site
