Error opening 2000 docs in 2003

This particular document has been going between two companies for several
months. The other company has been on Word 2003 for that time. The document
has been opening fine. Suddenly 2003 says the document is corrupted and
requires repair, which they did and everything is fine.

I've searched MSKB and this disccusion group and all I've found is that
repair needs to be run, nothing about WHY this happened other then something
about old clipart, to document doesn't contain clip art.

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

There is a Word 2003 post service pack 1 hotfix package that addresses
this error. For more information and how to obtain the hotfix package
take a look at this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889409/

Here are some additional instructions for obtaining the hotfix:

* In the US call 1-800-936-4900
* Wait for the Hotfix instructions (press 3)
* Request the hotfix described in KB 889409

Note you will not be charged for obtaining a hotfix from Microsoft.
