Error opening documents

Hello, I have MS Office Enterprise 2007 containing Word 2007.
I can create and format a document and save it. However, when I try and open
it I get the following error message "The file<filename> is not available" I
can see the document and I can open it's properties but I cannot load it. Any
suggestions.
