Recently ugraded from Office 97 to Office XP on a new PC and since then have
had issues trying to open Excel files. If a file is opened from inside Excel
via File > Open there is no problem. However, if a spreadsheet is double
clicked, or opened via My Recent Documents numerous error messages are thrown
saying it can't find the file and lists several abbreviated paths where it's
looking for it. The file has not been moved since it was migrated to the new
PC and it does eventually open. It appears maybe to be an indexing issue (I
have started and restarted the indexing service, but hasn't helped), there is
no problem opening Word docs. Any ideas on how to correct it?
