Error opening office97 after reinstall

I reintalled office 97 on my computer HP Pavillion with
windows Milenium and although I can see all the Icons for
WORD, Excell and Office if I press any it gives me this
error mesage " This application must be installed to run.
Please run setup from the location where you originally
installed the application". I tryed running set up and
does the same thing again. this is not a LAN. Thanks. Luis
Cintron.
