Error opening .tif files in Outlook

When I receive email with a .tif file attached I double
click the image, check open the file and Microsoft
Document Imaging opens with the error message "Unable to
read file due to Disk or Network error". If I save the
file in my documents and open the file from there, it
opens OK with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. I have
tried this with multiple files that I have received and
the error is consistent with all.

How can I double click on a .tif file in my Outlook inbox
and view the file??
