Error opening Word 2K

Michael

I have the same problem as Robert. I Tried booting Word 2K
from its shortcut icon on my desktop. The Word banner came
on the screen--there was a gong sound-and windows 98 froze
up. I CTRL/ALT/DELed several time and got the
message "Dangerously low on system resources". I
CTRL/ALT/DELed again and got the note: "There is not
enough disk space or memory to run word". Several more
CTRL/ALT/DELs and I was told "There is not enough disk
space or memory to run Explorer," and "There is not enough
disk space or memory to run Systray" (which was almost
empty at this point). I ran and then after no negative
responses, removed Norton Systems 2003. I also tried
Norton Go Back) to an hour earlier with no effect on my
problem. I subsequently removed it. I finally reinstalled
Win98 (without switches, which the RUN command didn't
recognize) and removed word (using the control
panel "remove"option), I then reinstalled Word and tried
booting it again. Same results: Win98 hangs up. I have 1/4
gig of Dram and a 60 gig hard dive. System Information
told me 92% of my resources were free. I typed this memo
in Wordpad which seems to work fine. This problem evolved
suddenly and with no warning. Norton virus checker live
update ran last night. also I can't open my hotmail
account although my ms mail account works fine. Any
Ideas?

Michael:
I too, am getting the same error messages. Several good
suggestions were made to my original thread on 08/20. Try
those and see if any of them help. Go to page 7 or 8 as I
was on page 6 yesterday. Good Luck!
