Error publishing projects

I am using Project Professional Client on XP Pro trying to publish to a
freshly installed MS Project Server. The Project Server is not within the
domain ; since we are testing it it is just in a simple workgroup on the same
network.

When I attempt to publish the project plan I get a popup the says "Project
Server has returned an unexpected response". When I click on the view button
to view the detailed error nothing happens. I need help diagnosing this
problem please.

Possibly related item. When I go into tools options to set up the project
server to connect to and click on "Test Connection" it gets the same error. I
have checked that the server name (http://servername/projectserver) and that
user I am using to connect are valid. I can use the same userid to connect
via Web Access.

Any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem can you please tell me did u solve this issue if so
please kindly guide how to come out of this problem.
