Error re sending mail - when I'm not trying to send mail

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

I'm getting an error message every time I Send/Receive mail. It reads as follows. "Error: An unknown error has occurred in Entourage. Explanation: Mail could not be sent." The thing is, I'm not trying to send mail – or at least I don't think I am. (I don't see a folder for mail that's queued to be sent, so I can't say whether some piece of mail is stuck in there that I don't know about. Is there such a folder or queue?) The error code is 4363, which I know from other sources normally has to do with attachments, but, I don't see how that applies here since I'm not trying to send anything. Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks.

Addendum: I forgot to mention that when I really do want to send mail, it works just fine - the mail is sent, but I still get the error message. I'm receiving just fine, too.

Under the folders "On My Computer" in Entourage, do you see anything in
the Outbox?

Yes, there was something there, with an attachment. I deleted it and all is well now. Thank you!

Now, is there a way to move the Outbox folder to the list of folders under the IMAP account that I use day to day?

Thanks again.

Entourage has only one Outbox for all types of mail accounts and it will
always appear under the folders "On My Computer". You cannot move it.

The Outbox is special because it is the launching point for all new
outgoing messages. Once you click the Send button your message must be
saved to some place on your computer before it can be processed and
sent. Your Outbox is physically located on your computer. Once sent, a
message will be moved to the appropriate Sent Items folder. If it can't
send then it will remain in the Outbox until it can either be delivered
or you move it from there.

Accounts that sync with their servers, such as IMAP or POP, do not have
Outboxes as part of the accounts.

Hope this helps!
