Error reading rules

I get the following error message when launching Outlook
2002. "There was an Error reading rules from the server.
The format of the server rules was not recognized." What
can I do to rectify this error?

try deleting it and recreating it. if that doesn't work,
create the users profile on a different computer and
edited the rule.
