Error Receiving Messages

The error says:

Task 'pop.freeserve.com - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210E) : 'Your
mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another e-mail message is being
delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it. The server
responded: -ERR [IN-USE] Unable to lock maildrop'

We have re-installed McAfee Virus with Firewall and Spam Killer. I have
tested the email account settings and they are all complete except, "Log onto
incoming mail server (POP3)" and then the error says:

Task 'pop.freeserve.com - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210E) : 'Your
mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another e-mail message is being
delivered to it or another mail application is accessing it. The server
responded: -ERR [IN-USE] Unable to lock maildrop'

Could the McAfee actually be affecting it? We have received a few emails
through but they were SPAM ones.

I suspect that the spamkiller is accessing the mailbox. The first thing to
do is to uninstall McAfee and test. If Outlook works, you know where the
problem lies.

I've uninstalled the McAfee but the issue is still there and i still cannot
get the emails. Do you have any other ideas?

Try starting Windows with no startup applications. Enter your username and
password and hold down the Shift key while WIndows loads. ONce you havea
stable desktop, start Outlook in safe mode by holding down CTRL when you
start it. Outlook will awsk if you want to start in safe mode. Say "Yes".
See if Outlook works then.
