error related to circular reference. Project 2003 Server

Hi,

We are facing a problem related to MS Project 2003 Server. While trying to
access one of the projects, it gives error related to circular reference. I
tried to search solution for it and tried to change the calculation from
auto to manual under toolsàoptions menu. But then its not showing the
Normal View [Gantt Chart view with No Group selection]. Though it is
showing other view options but not normal.

Also when I tried to check the same via web-based viewer, it is showing the
project perfectly except the indentation. It has automatically indented all
tasks at same level.

There are summary tasks also been created in the project, but its not
visible, so we are not able to update the task details.

Kindly suggest the solution to get the project back in its normal form.
Also suggest if anything required to done with the Database. We are using
MS Project 2003 Server with MS SQL DB

Thank you,

Gary,

Thank you for your answer, in our case it is not possible for last
good backup of the plan since we don't have backup of the same. Weird thing
is we can view the project plan in Project Web Access but we can not view
the same using Project Office. Why?? it seems to me that there is some
currupted dependency but I am not clear about it.

Can you help me out to find alternate solution??

Thanks,
CS

Yes, indeed, a circular relationship is a corruption introduced by human
error. You can harvest the information from the project web access views to
reconstruct your plan.

Gary,

Thank you for your msg. Well, I guess there is no alternate solution
other than harvesting information from Project Web Access. Let's see, I
will do that way.

Thank you once again!
