error report when using microsoft word on windows xp

anyone know why i can not use word on my xp computer, I have no problems with
the other programs that were installed from microsoft office, i have also
updated files from the office website, but still keep on getting error report
messages when using word.

Well some information on your problem would be a help such as will it open,
or it closes after a few seconds or what?
