Error running Office 2000 from non-admin accounts in Windows XP.

Brian Swett

I have Office 2000 loaded on a PC with Windows XP Media Player Edition. From
my Admin accounts, Office runs just fine. When I attempt to run Office from a
non-admin account, Windows Installer comes up, gives an error that source
code cannot be found (repeating five or six times) and then finally loads the
application. How can I resolve this issue?

Change in admin-mode the non-admin-account into an admin-account. Switch to
the changed account and open all programs of office with inserted CD. After
all necessary installations quit offce, go to administrator-account and
change the user from admin-rights to a non-admin-account again. Now office
opens without false installation-efforts.
