Error trying to link an excel and/or text file in Access 2000

Following is the error message:

There is no object in this control

Upon clicking OK the Wizard launches but cannot do
anything but to cancel.

So far, I have performed the few suggestions outlined on
Article: 303769 and 209805(check the reg and reregister
couple of the dlls)....no avail. Still have the problem.

The user can Link/import via ODBC and DBF files.

Any insight, suggestion(s) would be greatly appreciated.
