error undefined

I have Word 2000. I can open and use it for a bit and then
I lose control of the PC. My mouse goes in the opposite
direction with only a jest of control. I can not click
anything. I half to turn off the PC to stop what is
happening. Some of the integration of the sceen gets
distorted. It acts like a bug/virus of some kind but my
McAfee scan says nothing is detected. Does anyone have an
idea of the cause of the problem?
