Error uploading Office after upgrading to Leopard

I erased and reformatted my harddrive, installed Leopard, and
reinstalled Office for Mac. Now I have problems opening office. It
says there is "error uploading microsoft office framework" everytime i
open it. It eventually opens, but it takes 2 minutes.

Option 1) If you receive a framework error, re-apply recent updates. For
Leopard download the standalone 10.5.1 updater and run it again. A framework
error normally means one or more components of Office have not been updated
correctly and are now out of synch with other bits.

Option 2) The "Framework error" is basically a (generic) message indicating
the application can't connect to the Database or to the expected information
inside the Database. The reasons may differ and so may the methods to solve
it.

Some users have resorted to deleting the MUD folder, but before you do that
try some other methods (repairing permissions, rebuilding the Database,...)
before you take a drastic action like deleting the MUD folder.

Just to more explicitly make one point: If you reinstalled Office X or 2004
you will also need to apply the updates for *it* before it will run. If X
you need 10.1.9 or for 2004 you'll need 11.3.5 through 11.3.9 applies in
order to get up & running. [When you reinstalled to reverted to 10.0/11.0
which is what resulted in the Framework error.]
