error upon linking to table on server

I have linked to several tables however, when attempting to link to a
specific table on a server, I get the following error message…

“The width of a Unicode text columns must be an even number of bytes.â€

Then the data shows as #Error and several ascii boxes for most of the rows,
but not all.
The ascii boxes are in the last column.
The error message keeps popping back up until I do control-alt-delete to
kill the database

I have linked to several other tables in the same database without any
problems. Has anyone seen this error and can tell me anything about it? I
also have our it guy looking at the table structure that I am trying to link
to.

Never mind, guys. I got the answer from searching the internet. Thanks
anyway, though.
