Error Viewing any graphic in Word 2002

I have had Word 2002 on my computer for over two years with no problems. A
few days ago I tried to open a Word document that I downloaded from the Web
that had a graphic picture in it. The message "Microsoft has encountered an
error and must close" came up. I already tried the issues about deleting and
creating a new Normal.dot file. It asked if I want a new Normal file and I
said yes. No change. I completly uninstalled Word and re-installed. No
change. Virus check revealed no viruses. Every other program on the
computer works fine. In Word, I can look at any document that is text only
with no problems. Detect and Repair conducted with no change. I am
completely stumped! I am now thinking I must do a System Recovery as I did a
System Restore to several weeks back and this made no change. Any ideas or
suggestions welcome.
