Error when attempting to send an Email with Word or Excel 2000

When attempting to use email from Word or Excel 2000, a message comes up
"Message could not be sent, An error has occurred". Outlook Express/Email
itself works fine, just not through Word or Excel.

Using: WinVista

Unfortunately, Windows Mail isn't compatible at the moment. This is a bug
and should be fixed with Vista SP1. You'll have to save the doc/ss and then
send from WM as attachments.

I have been using Word & Excel 2000 with WinVista since April and the email
function worked just fine until recently when this error started appearing.

OH! Interesting. Then it suggests an update may have broken something. I
presume that you have checked that WM is still the default mail client?

Yes, I did check that WM remains the default mail client.

I can only suggest going to the Control Panel, and remove any
updates/patches installed since this stopped working.
