Error when closing Office 2000

Hello

Every time i close word 200 i get the error
message "changes have been made that effect the global
template, normal.dot. Do you want to save those
changes" I have not made any changes to these ever.
Any suggestions?

This is usually caused by a poorly written add-in. The most common culprits
are the Office Plug-in in Norton AntiVirus (which can be disabled without
compromising your security provided you leave Auto-Protect enabled) and the
Microsoft Office Works Suite Add-in for Word, which should be uninstalled
(through Add/Remove Programs) if you're running Word freestanding (not
starting it from the Works Task Launcher).

This version of word 2k is stand alone and part of office
works. however, this is a new problem that just started
happening. All spy-ware has been removed and there are
no ad-in apps installed. the computer has an old version
of norton but it has not cuased a problem until now. any
other suggestions?
