When closing Word, I get the following error:
"Word cannot save or create tihs file. Make sure that the disk you want to
save the file on is not full, write-protected, or damaged.
(Q:\...\Normal.dotm)"
I can then press "OK", and choose to save Normal.dotm elsewhere, but this is
an incredibly annoying extra step.
Now for some background information!
I work IS and a user wanted to configure Word so that when creating a new
document, he could immediately choose from a list of templates stored on a
shared network drive rather than having to navigate there each time.
So I fixed this problem by going to Word Options -> Advanced -> File
Locations -> and then changed the default template directory.
This worked great as a fix, HOWEVER this user does not have write access to
the folder in question, and thus when Word attempts to autosave Normal.dotm
upon its exit, the error is produced.
How can I fix this?
