Error when connecting MS Project 2003 Pro to Project Server 2007

Guys I am in a right pickle and need some assistance!

I have installed project server 2007 with sharepoint services in a
standalone setup (test environment)

I would like to achieve the following:-

1) Users using the office Web access should all be read only
2) Users who are using Office project Pro should be able to update and
create new projects.


I am now in a position where my project server is installed and I have a pc
with Office project Pro 2003 and I am trying to connect the client to the
server through enterprise options however I am getting the error below!


"Unexpected server response

Project server has returned an unexpected response."

The project server URL I am using is as follows:-

Http://Servername/PWA

You can't do it. It's either

Project Server 2007 -- SharePoint 3.0 -- Project Pro 2007
or
Project Server 2003 -- SharePoint 3.0 -- Project Pro 2003.

No mixing and matching. Unfortunately. You'll need to install Project Pro
2007 on your client machine(s).
