Error when creating project's SharePoint sites

Hi,

We are experiencing a sharepoint error for a couple of days now. When
requesting the sharepoint site to be created (PWA -> Admin-> Manage
SharePoint sites - select project - create site) the following error message
is displayed: Error occurred when creating site. Site does not seem to exist.
This was working fine until last Monday.

I have verified the following:
- When creating a top site by using the SharePoint Admin site, the site is
created.
- Both primary and secondary owners email addresses are ok and users are in
the admin group
- Already created sites are working fine
- The server log is showing a considerable amount of 0x8c040014 errors;
almost every single published project is receiving this error (I don't know
if this is related to the issue but there is)

If you have configured to have non-Windows authenticated users be able to
log on to the computer running Project Server 2003 by using Project
Professional, configure the authentication method as either Project Server or
Mixed.
