Error when downloaded Sept 2003, Cumulative Patch

Carole

I downloaded the Sept 2003, Cululative Patch, that came in
my e-mail. Now whenever I boot up my computer, and when I
try to get into Norton Systemworks, I get the error
message:

"Memory access violation in modual kernas 32 at 5786:
77389511."

Also, since I downloaded it, my DSL has been terribly slow
and unproductive. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

I'm using Windows XP.

Thank you!
Carole

You have been hit with a virus. Microsoft does not email any updates to
users and if you receive any updates in email, delete them. Somehow you will
need to get out the Symantics website to see if they have a fix for this
virus. Be aware you may have to format your harddrive and re-install all
your software.

I downloaded the Sept 2003, Cululative Patch,

You should post this question on a WindowsXP newsgroup; Microsoft
Access(TM) is a database program, part of the Office suite, and this
newsgroup is for questions about Access.

Microsoft never send e-mail directly to you about updates. This is a bogus
update and it actually installed a virus or worm to your PC. The virus /
worm is sending e-mails to other users with e-mail addresses from your
computer and that's why the DSL is busy.

Use another computer and see if you can get the fix from Norton / Symantec.
Turn your computer of or disconnect it from the DSL if you can.

BTW, you posted to the wrong newsgroup. This newsgroup is for Microsoft
Access, a database application.
