Error when Emailing in Publisher

I have Publisher 2002 and Outlook 2003. When trying to send an e-mail
(embedded rather than as an attachment) by clicking on the "E-mail" icon, I
get the error message, "Publisher cannot mail your publication because part
of the mail system is missing. Reinstall your program and try again." I
reinstalled Office 2003 (including Outlook). It said everything was
repaired. I restarted my computer and tried e-mailing again and received the
same error message. I changed my default mail program to Outlook Express 6.
Then I tried e-mailing and again received the same error message. I now
switched my default back to Outlook 2003. Any suggestions for solving my
problem would be greatly appreciated.

No. I wasn't sure that my first posting went through so I sent another; I'm
sorry for the replication. Perhaps I'm missing something but I do not see a
solution in my earlier post? Please advise. Thanks.

Thanks for your response, Mary. I completed all of the steps in "You cannot
send a document as an e-mail message...". (I did have one additional listing
in regedit "Install CMD". The rest were as listed.) I then used the repair
feature (Detect & Repair in the Help menu) in both my Microsoft Office 2003
and Publisher 2002. When trying to e-mail I receive the same error message.
Any other ideas?

I have no other ideas. I opened my copy of Publisher 2002, I get the very same
message. Publisher 2003 doesn't have the option to send current page as the
message body.

For your Publisher document to be in the body of the email you will have to
convert it to HTML for the images to display. Then you are taking the gamble all
your recipients will have HTML, and not plain text, enabled to receive. For
those who only accept plain text the images will come across as attachments.

You are far, far better off sending as a PDF. Many free converters around, Primo
is mentioned often here.

Thanks, again, Mary. I downloaded PrimoPDF and converted my Publisher 2002
document to PDF using the user manual instructions. Will I only be able to
send this file as an attachment or is there a way to embed a pdf right into
the e-mail? (This is for a promotion for our business and, of couse, many
will not open an attachment.) I really appreciate all of your assistance!

As far as I know you cannot send a PDF in the body of an email. I could be
wrong...
I don't know how you can get your recipients to open any attachment. I suppose
it depends on the nature of your business and the trust you have built with your
clients and contacts.
