Error when Importing/Linking Tables

Good Afternoon all: I am receiving the following message
when I try to link or import tables into Access
2000: "Method Codedb of object Application failed" I've
successfully done this in the past and now I am getting
this error. What can I do to fix this?

As a side note...I've just completely removed and then
reinstalled Office and I'm still getting the error.
Everything appears to be fine, except when I try to
link/import tables.
