Error when loading Mac:Word

M

Martin Rep

Every time I try to launch Mac:Word, I get the error message: An unexpected
error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework library.
Šbut I can work in Word eventually, though.

A similar annoying thing happens when I am starting up Mac:Excel.

Does anyone know a solution?

This problem is caused by an update that was not fully applied. Apply the
latest updates, and this message will disappear.

I have the same issue. I have DL'd all the updates available, still not resolved. I also can't open the red tool box, says "Support files cannot be found..." and to reinstall. I did that, 3 times. Didn't work.

All of this occurred after I upgraded my computer to a MacBook Pro, never had these issues on my PowerBook G4 laptop.

So, any other suggestions?

Sorry Shane, but "Support files..." and "Framework errors..." are not "the
same issue":)

When following the instructions to reinstall did you run the Remove Office
utility *first*? Otherwise reinstalling doesn't do much. Try following the
procedure detailed here 7 see if things improve:

BTW: If you happened to use Apples Migration Tool to transfer your apps to
the new MBP that's probably what caused the problem.

Hi Shayne,

Many of us reading this newsgroup view it via newsreaders rather than the
web forum interface that you used. For that reason, we don¹t see all the
previous posts and so we have no idea what you are referring to here.

Please start again. What same issue do you have? What error do you see
when loading? What is your version of Word/Office?

Also, reinstalling Office without first using the Remove Office tool is
almost always useless.
