Error when opening Project 2007 file

Hi All,

I download the trial version of microsoft project 2007. I followed all the
instruction in installating and activating the product, however whenever I
try to open a saved file or template the program always crashes.

I download updates for microsoft office 2007 and project 2007 but it seems
it is still not working.

Will buying the full version help?
What if I buy the full version and still experience the same problem, what
now?

Thanks

Thanks for the prompt reply. I would just like to ask why the trial version
cant open files and template although its a basic command?

What if after buying the full version I still experience the same problem,
What else can i do?

Hi,

I never try to understand all the why's from microsoft (please note that
MVPs are not MS prersonnel but volunteers that want to help users)
If the final version would not work properly you would have to contact MS
support.

Just a thought. Are eiterh of you using Norton Anti-Virus? If yes, try
disabling the "Microsoft Office" Document integration features with Norton.
It has helped others.

Search this newsgroup for "Norton" and see what you can find, I know someone
else had posted a slightly different solution.

Jim- extremely helpful thanks. Seems to have helped resolve the problem. I'm
new to discussion group - how do I rate your post?

To rate a post, you should see a question or two at the bottom of the post.
Answer the questions and that will "rate" the post. Or, just buy me a cold
one?

Hi Jim,

That only applies if you use the web sites. Using a browser like Outlook
Express, these options are not available. Personally, I've used Outlook
Express for 11 years now and hate the web based community format - they're
unfriendly and very slow.
