Dear All,
I have been receiving errors of the 0x80004005 type, which seemed to reduce
in frequency when we reset the DNS settings. The errors would typically be a
series of five error messages, and then two warnings in the event viewer. The
iisues that we saw seemed to mean that when PMs changed something in a
project and published, this info would go to the resources' tasksheets, and
be seen in the PWA, but somehow didn't actually turn up in the project itself.
Yesterday, one of the PMs changed the baselline manually! and then
republished, causing one of these 0x80004005 errors. I cannot identify
why...for a time I thought it might be an enterprise resource pool issue, but
I cannot find anything wrong. Last night the cube then failed to build. I
deleted the cube and then rebuilt one successfully with the same parameters.
I then "processed" the cube in Analysis manager, and received a number of
errors ("A member with key '2247' was found in the fact table but was not
found in the set of leaf members of dimension 'Tasks'. time etc." ) under the
title "Partition 'MSP_ASSN_FACT' Execute : SELECT
"MSP_CUBE_PROJECTS"."PROJ_NAME", "MSP_CUBE_PROJ_VERSIONS"."PROJ_VERSION",
"MSP_CUBE_PROJECTS"."PROJ_NAME", "MSP_CUBE_RESOURCES"."RESOURCENAME",
"MSP_CUBE_RESOURCES"."RES_IS_ACTIVE",...etc."
Whether its related or not, shortly afterwards I also received a load of
messages in the event viewer as follows:
"Failed auto update retrieval of third-party root list sequence number from:
<http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootseq.txt> with error: The server name or address could not be resolved
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."
Alas there is no further information when I follow the link.
Does any of this make sense to someone out there, please...
Cheers,
John
