Error when saving as text

I am currently use Office XP on a PC with Windows XP
Professional installed.

I have used this configuration for about a year. A few
months ago, all my text files begin to open right
justified with a Style Plain Text+Right. I think it
happened right after I installed a Windows update, but I
am not sure. I just dealt with it, but now the problem
is more than annoying.

The files were saved originally as Plain Text and should
be left justified. Something is happening that I cannot
see, and cannot correct.

I have downloaded all the service packs and updated the
Registry in an effort to solve this problem.
