Error when trying to edit any macro

Hello Excel communitiy:
Whenever I try to edit a macro I receive the following error:
"Cannot edit a macro on a hidden workbook. Unhide the workbook using the
Unhide command."
Please advise.

Hi Al,

Sounds like an old Excel 4-style macro. To unhide a workbook, goto the
Window menu and Select Unhide. You should then be presented with a list of
hidden windows. Try unhiding everything and then try editing your macro
again.

Mark,
The few test macros that I had created I saved them in PERSONAL.XLS. Sure
enough, when I selected Windows/Unhide PERSONAL.XLS was an option to choose
from and I unhid it. I don't remember ever hiding PERSONAL.XLS. Anyway,
