Error when trying to type in Word 2007

I successfully downloaded and installed the trial version of Office Home &
Student 2007. I opened Word and tried to type but it gave me this error at
the bottom of the window "This modification is not allowed because the
selection is locked". Why is it giving me this error?

That's an issue specific to the PC versions of Office & this is the group
for Word on the Mac. I have a feeling, however, that you've either not
Activated the product or you've had it longer than the 60-day trial period.

If the first case, launch any Office app then click the Office Button, click
the [app name] Options button, then select Resources & click Activate.

If the second case, pay up for a licenses:)

If neither case try the PC Office groups found here:

Thanks, I'll try doing that. I just downloaded the trial yesterday so it
hasn't expired.
