Error while downloading Office Pro 97 into Windows 98 computer

While attempting to download Office 97 Professional
Edition into my Windows 98 computer w/IE 6.0 installed
following a successful Recovery operation, I received the
following error message--"The configuration of the ODBC
Microsoft dBase Driver [x.dbf] driver failed. Microsoft
Office 97 Setup was not completed successfully." What
could be causing this problem?

I have successfully reinstalled Office 97 in the past
following a Recovery operation, but it may have been in IE
4.0 or 5.5. Can't remember. Please advise.
