Error? Windows Installer asking for MS Office XP Pro

I upgraded Win 98 SE to Win 2K SP 4. And running Office 2K SP 3
(never installed / ran Office XP).

When I attempt to delete / move a file from desktop, start menu, or
explorer I get the Windows Installer box asking for features from MS
Office XP Pro. When I click cancel a few times, I can delete / move.
Why is this asking me for features from Office XP when I never
installed it in the first place? And can I get rid of this?
