Error with custom forms in both heirarchy's OL2003

I am getting an error on many computers using outlook
2003 (but not all of them). When I open a new item using
custom forms in either the favorites or all public
folders heirchy the form fails to load and i get the
error: "the form you selected could not be displayed.
The object could not be found." I have done a bit of
research and found KB article 831586, but the fact that
this is occuring on both heirarches seems to make me
believe there is something more going on. I do also get
the symptom of affected outlook clients reloading the
contact form each time. I have tried clearing the cache,
and resetting the profiles. I still have the same
reoccuring issues. I have even manually cleared the
cache. I just can't find the root of this problem.
Please give me some suggestions. Could it be a problem
with the forms stored on the server? or the way outlook
is loading these forms? I have been looking but am
finding no leads.

DO NOT attempt to access custom form items through the Favorites hierarchy. There are known problems with this that can cause Outlook to hang. We're still trying to get a handle on what's happening in the forms cache when you go through the regular Public Folders hierarchy. Changes were definitely made in the behavior in Outlook 2003.

can you please give me some more info as to the nature of
this change. also, this issue only occurs on my systems
running the final version. those using technical refresh
of the beta do not encounter this issue. a direction as
to where to find specifics on form cache and storage of
forms on the 2003 version of server would be helpful.

ps= thanks for your amazingly fast responce

We don't know all the details yet, but there was a change between beta and RTM. Hopefully, Microsoft will come out with a KB article.
