"Error with item and message previewer."

I keep getting this message: file can not be previewed because of an error
with the following previewer: Microsoft Office Outlook message and item
previewer. I have not been able to open many messages from my friends. Does
anyone have any information about this?

The problem is caused by Google Desktop. After uninstalling Google Desktop
from my system the Outlook Previewer resume normal operation.

I had the same problem and I uninstalled Google Desktop and that
solved the problem.

This issue had the experts on Experts-Exchange.com scratching their

I hope that Google fixes this problem soon as I am going to miss
Google Desktop but I can't have it interfering with my other programs.

You do not need to uninstall GD in Outlook 2007. Go to tools | trust
center | add-ins.
Select com add-ins. Uncheck GD.
Select Exchange client extensions. Uncheck GD

You can still use GD in Windows.

This does work, and it leave Google Desktop running, just not within
outlook.  You can still search mail, you just need to do it from
either the <ctrl><ctrl> key sequence, or the browser based desktop

Thanks for the info. This problem was driving me crazy. When I uninstalled
Google Desktop the problem was solved.
