Error with outlook 2003 tasks.

I have a problem with my outlook and reassigning tasks. I am employee A and
I create a task in outlook and assign it to employee B who in turn accepts
the task. Then employee B realizes he cannot complete the task so he assigns
it to employee C. The problem is Employee C receives the task in his inbox
but once he clicks on it to open and accept the task. He gets the error
"Can't open this item. The operation failed." Need to know if anyone else
has had problems with this and if they were able to resolve it.
