Problem:
A 2-server development instance of ProjectServer 2003, with PS and WSS on
one server and SQL on the second. Everything was working until recently when
the service account used for connecting the two was inadvertently expired.
The account was reset and I ran PSCOMPlus. Again everything worked for a
couple of days. Now integration has failed again. Users going to the
Project Server Web Access page get the message "There is a problem
establishing a connection with the Web server running Windows SharePoint
Services. Contact your system administrator."
The Application log on the WSS box shows a repeating series of four errors.
First:
Component: ConnectSvc
File:
C:\Office\dev\project\WebClient\source\server\connectorsvc\connectorsvc.cpp
Line: 777
Description:
Restarting listener for the connector
configured by 'SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\MS
Project\Services\Configuration\Connector\ProjectServer1'

Followed by:
Soap error: XML Parser failed at linenumber 0, lineposition 0, reason is:
The download of the specified resource has failed.
Soap error: Loading of the WSDL file failed
Soap error: One of the parameters is invalid.
When I attempt to run PSCOMPlus, I get the following error:
The following component is not registered properly: PjObjProv.PSStsAdm.1
Please register the component again with regsvr32 or reinstall Microsoft
Project Server
Followed by:
A general COM administration error has occured. Check the provided usernames
and passwords.
I have verified that the accounts are not locked out or expired. I have
checked user names and passwords on the service accounts. I have tried
several different service accounts, in case I made a mistake in my notes and
wrote down the wrong accounts.
Can anyone suggest a way to proceed? This is starting to take on the
quality of urgency within our group. Thanks.
