Error with send/receive

Terry

Each time I send/receive with Outlook 2003 (XP Home), I get a generic error
message, “Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to
close….†Maneuvers so far: Ran virus/spyware, ran chkdsk. Turned off
graphics hardware acceleration. Renamed outcmd.dat. Tried Run Outlook/safe
and got same error. Used Control Panel / Add/remove / Office / Repair and got
message that it was successfully repaired, but then got same error. Used
scanpst.exe to scan outlook.pst; it found and repaired errors but didn’t fix
my problem. Started getting a Nokia Launch Application error so uninstalled
Nokia. Next?

At that point, have you tried saving your .pst files (since your Outlook
sounds hosed, I would search *.pst and MAKE SURE you check within hidden
files and folders! Then save the individual files to a separate folder,
transfer to server folder or burn to CD. Next re-install Outlook. I've had
similar problems on a few machines I've been responsible for servicing over
the years, and you're pretty much at the "uninstall-reinstall" point, by the
sound of it.
