Good! That's what I was hoping. The re-install should not have changed the
original problem, and applying the updates should have returned us just to
that point: displaying the original problem.
OK, now I need to know which version your operating system is: I assume
that it's OS 10.4.8 -- is that correct?
How much memory do you have in the system? Which graphics card?

Hi, i followed your advice and the error message problem is now
repaired - the problem with Word is still occurring though. thanks

Yes: If you have re-installed the program, you need to re-install the OS
10.4.8 update from Apple, and the Microsoft Office 11.3 and 11.3.3 updates
from Microsoft.
The "FrameWork" error shows that one of the components of Word is now at a
version that is incompatible with the system or with other modules.
BTW: As you have just discovered, on a Mac, "reinstalling" stuff almost
never makes things better, but often makes things worse. The preferred
response to problems on the Mac is to figure out what is wrong and fix that.
In your case, the first place I would have looked is the graphics driver.
However, now we have a "new" problem, let's respond only to that one first.
Then test the system and report back if there are any further problems after
installing the updates.
Cheers

I am having trouble with Word on my mac - the screen does not show the
text cursor unless i have it in the "show/hide" paragraph icon mode.
i tried reinstalling the office 2004 for mac program and after
reinstalling and loading Word this message popped up "an unexpected
error occurred while trying to load the Microsoft Framework library".
Does any one know what i can do to fix this problem?
thanks.
