Error: Word found locked fields during the update.

When merging, received this error -
"Word found locked fields during the update. Word cannot
update locked fields."
We are using Word 2000, and the document was created by an
Australian Government department, possibly using Word XP.

There is a knowledge base article (292155)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;292155&Product=wd2002
- dealing with this issue for Word 2002, but the solution
does not work in Word 2000.
Help! I've tried everything I can think of, and these
government forms need to be used.

Cheers,
Caroline.

PS. the search for the Newsgroups is not working. It
says 'Contact Administrator' whenever I try to search.

Have you tried selecting the entire document (then all
drawing objects, and the headers/footers) and pressing
Ctrl+Shift+F11 to make sure no fields are locked?

Thank you Cindy, that worked!
(smacks forehead) Why didn't I think of that?
Oh well, a fix is a fix is a fix!
Thanks,
Caroline.

<G> Sometimes it just helps to have a bit of distance to a
problem. And to not fear "asking the obvious".

Glad it's running!
