Errors After Re-Installing Office 2004

Hi there,

I had to re-install Office 2004 as I discovered part of my installation was
missing key elements that I use. However, I am now having two major
problems. I have not yet downloaded the Office Updates and am not sure if
these will resolve these issues. This is because the server keeps going
off-line. Get part way through and then it gives an error messages (not
communicating) and having to start from scratch again. This is the
cumulative update for May 8th, 58.5 MB (11.3.5). I'm using an Intel iMac
with
OS X 10.4.9.

1. In Entourage only, I receive "This identity cannot be opened with this
version of Entourage". Entourage will not open at all, it just closes.
2. In Word, Excel and PowerPoint, all applications open, and then I get
this message: "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the
Microsoft Framework library".

So, what can I do to open Entourage? How do I get around these problems?

Office would not be involved a downloading failing. This could be a result
of many things. Disk space, your ISP, Finder issues.

1. In Entourage only, I receive "This identity cannot be opened with this
version of Entourage". Entourage will not open at all, it just closes.

That¹s because you haven¹t updated. There was a change in the database after
the CD release version that requires an update to open it.

2. In Word, Excel and PowerPoint, all applications open, and then I get
this message: "An unexpected error occurred while trying to load the
Microsoft Framework library".

If you receive a framework error, re-apply recent updates. A framework error
normally means one or more components of Office have not been updated
correctly and are now out of synch with other bits.

Until you can get the update, you won¹t be able to access your Entourage
data.

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again
rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Combo updaters will install on the same version as
they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean install.

The combo update installer updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3,
10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, or 10.4.8 to 10.4.9.
